Job Description
Senior Windows Server Engineer enhancing enterprise IT solutions at GDIT through impactful engineering work and collaboration. Developing complex solutions, overseeing infrastructure, and guiding team members.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to completion of major engineering programs and projects
- Develop solutions to complex Windows/Linux engineering problems
- Oversee highly complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
- Prepare and maintain documentation for engineering projects
- Maintain current knowledge of rapidly changing technology
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals
Requirements:
- 8+ years of related experience
- Operations experience with Windows OS including administration, management, and troubleshooting
- Experience utilizing security tools (Qualys) to monitor and remediate vulnerabilities
- Experience with VMware virtual environment
- Experience with CLOUD platforms Azure and OCI
- Understanding of proactive monitoring concepts
- Experience with patching and maintaining server builds
- Ability to monitor and diagnose Windows server issues
- Knowledge of infrastructure principles: Scalability, Capacity planning, Backup/Recovery
- Troubleshooting skills for complex hardware/software issues
- Linux experience and skills desired
