Job Description
Lead social media marketing for Knowt's high school audience on TikTok and Instagram. Create engaging content and grow viewer engagement while tracking performance metrics.
Responsibilities:
- Own the @getknowt TikTok and Instagram accounts day to day, posting content daily for a high school audience.
- Take content from idea to publish: hooks, scripts, filming, editing, and captions.
- Speak directly to what high schoolers are dealing with, AP exams, the SAT and ACT, studying, test stress - and make it feel relatable.
- Turn Knowt's product into content students actually want to watch and use.
- Ensure every post feels native to the platform and to high school/Gen-Z culture.
- Constantly test hooks, formats, storytelling angles, and CTAs to find repeatable winning formulas.
- Tie content to the high school calendar to catch students exactly when they need Knowt.
- Track and report on content performance with clear recommendations for what to scale, improve, or stop.
- Measure success across views, watch time, interactions (saves, shares, comments), and most importantly, website subscriptions.
Requirements:
- Has experience creating and growing short-form content, ideally for high school, edtech, or exam-prep audiences.
- Deeply understands high school students' daily struggles, AP courses, the SAT and ACT, and the pressure that comes with them.
- Has a strong understanding of what goes viral on TikTok and Instagram and why.
- Is data-driven, making decisions off view and conversion metrics, not vibes.
- Is obsessed with testing, learning, and finding scalable growth through content.
- Is comfortable on camera and/or scripting for creators.
- Is an experienced test taker! Bonus points if you've taken AP exams, the SAT, or the ACT yourself.
