Job Description

Software Development Engineer II building secure Java and Spring Boot fintech platforms for NationsBenefits’ healthcare solutions. Developing microservices, APIs, testing, and cloud-integrated payment technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain features for the FinTech application using Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x
  • Write clean, well-documented, efficient code focused on performance and maintainability
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and team members to deliver software solutions
  • Work with Product Managers to translate business requirements into technical designs and features
  • Participate in code reviews and share best practices
  • Write unit and integration tests
  • Debug and resolve issues
  • Help ensure software meets quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Suggest and implement improvements to development processes, tools, and technologies
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, knowledge-sharing engineering environment
  • Follow security and compliance best practices
  • Identify and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities

Requirements:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in Java 21 with Spring Boot 3.x
  • Strong expertise in microservices architecture and RESTful API development
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB
  • Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in Git
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and SonarQube
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in automated testing, including JUnit, Mockito, and PITest
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Jenkins, Kubernetes, and other DevOps automation tools
  • Preferred: Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React
  • Preferred: Understanding of payment systems, transaction processing, and data security in FinTech applications
  • Preferred: Awareness of compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS
