Job Description
Software Engineer building scalable AWS/Python backend systems and healthcare data pipelines. Supporting Evio’s pharmacy solutions, analytics platforms, and high-cost medication initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, support, and maintain scalable internal applications using AWS, Python, SQL, Stored Procedures, Step Functions, Lambda, API Gateway, and Glue
- Build serverless functions and microservices for application features and data-processing workflows
- Collaborate with data teams to deliver complete, end-to-end solutions
- Design and develop scalable data architectures using AWS cloud services, including data lakes, data warehouses, bulk data ingestion, and transaction processing
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using AWS Glue and Python to ingest, transform, and enrich data
- Integrate APIs, batch jobs, and real-time data streams using Lambda, Glue, Kinesis, Step Functions, and S3
- Administer and optimize Redshift, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases using RDS/Aurora
- Monitor and tune backend applications and data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
- Implement caching, partitioning, and batching strategies
- Ensure backend services and data flows meet industry standards and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA
- Implement access control and data protection strategies
- Partner with product managers, data analysts, and engineers to translate requirements into backend solutions
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship within the development team
- Contribute to architectural decisions and backend development standards
- Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Implement DevOps CI/CD pipelines for current and new products
- Identify opportunities to optimize code, processes, and systems for efficiency and reliability
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field
- 5+ years of experience in software development or a similar role, with demonstrated technical leadership experience
- Strong software development skills and prior experience using Python, SQL, Stored Procedures, AWS Lambda, API, and Glue
- Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases, query authoring, views, stored procedures, and triggers in an AWS Cloud environment
- Experience with Redshift, Aurora, PostgreSQL, or similar RDBMS
- Experience with healthcare claims data, including HL7, Medical Claims, or Rx Claims, or similar healthcare data
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
