Job Description
Backend-focused C# engineer at FlexEnergi responsible for designing, building, and maintaining production systems in cloud environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain backend services in C#
- Own features end-to-end from technical design through deployment and production operation
- Develop and support integrations with external partners, utilities, and market systems
- Improve system reliability, observability, scalability, and performance
- Containerize and deploy services within cloud environments
- Work directly with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and runtime configuration
- Contribute to Kubernetes adoption and cloud architecture evolution
- Diagnose and resolve production issues across application, infrastructure, and data layers
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product teams to deliver customer value
Requirements:
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application
- 3+ years of professional experience building backend software systems in C#
- Experience deploying and operating production services
- Ability to debug and resolve issues across:
- Application code
- Infrastructure/runtime environments
- Databases or data flows
- Comfort taking a service from local development to reliable production operation with minimal hand-holding
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in high-ownership, evolving environments
