Job Description
Backend Developer leading architecture for digital channels at Grupo Boticário, ensuring seamless integration with Web and Mobile applications.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership in designing, architecting, and evolving distributed backend ecosystems (Node.js), ensuring seamless integration with Web and Mobile applications (React/Flutter)
- Continuously evolve and improve our solutions in terms of software quality, processes, performance, and new features
- Define and drive architectural patterns to ensure resilience, high availability, scalability, and low latency under high request load
- Perform technical refinement of complex initiatives, assessing technical feasibility and supporting the product team in defining the long-term vision for solutions
- Guide the team in applying software engineering best practices (Clean Code, Clean Architecture, Design Patterns and SOLID) across both Backend and client-side (Web and Mobile) ecosystems
- Provide technical support and mentorship to developers, guiding solution design and resolving complex architectural and operational bottlenecks
- Promote and establish a rigorous code review culture to ensure software quality and maintainability
- Support our distributed solutions, acting as a technical bridge between backend engineers and client-side (web/mobile) teams
- Document architecture and technical decisions whenever necessary
- Ensure team alignment with the Group’s software architecture and information security directives
- Maintain application technical health through APM monitoring, API error rates, latency, and database health metrics
- Design and evolve the architecture of distributed systems to guarantee high availability, resilience, and low latency under heavy request loads
- Coordinate and structure strategies for complex releases (Canary, Feature Flags and Remote Config), integrating backend service deployments with app/web launches
Requirements:
- Backend focus: Strong mastery of Node.js and the modern server-side ecosystem
- Technical leadership: Experience serving as a Tech Lead or Software Technical Architect in high-performing, cross-functional teams
- Fullstack vision and architecture: Deep architectural understanding of the lifecycle and integration of client-side applications on Web (React) and Mobile (Flutter)
- Software architecture: Advanced knowledge of Microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, Event-Driven Architecture, Design Patterns, and resilience patterns
- Distributed systems and databases: Proficiency with messaging/queue systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS), caching mechanisms (Redis), relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
- Cloud and Serverless: Experience with Cloud architectures and Serverless solutions (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, etc.)
- DevOps, CI/CD and infrastructure: Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Bitrise) and understanding of backend deployment flows and app distribution (Android/iOS)
- Software quality: Expertise in automated testing strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end, and load/stress testing)
- Observability and APM: Experience with continuous monitoring of application technical health (logs, tracing, metrics, APM)
- Internationalization: Knowledge of software internationalization strategies (i18n, multiple time zones and currencies)
- Global languages and tools: Proficiency with Git workflows (Gitflow, GitHub Flow, GitLab Flow) and remote configuration/feature flag tools (ConfigCat, Firebase Remote Config)
- Critical and analytical mindset regarding performance, scalability, resilience, and information security
- Experience in agile teams and ability to work autonomously in a cross-functional, multilingual, collaborative environment.
