Job Description
Staff Platform Engineer building an AI platform for Facility Grid’s construction commissioning and turnover software. Owning AWS production reliability, agent operations, cloud cost, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Build the internal AI platform, including change-qualification harnesses, progressive rollout, and shared context for engineers’ agents
- Move operations from reactive to proactive using agents that baseline the system and flag anomalies before paging
- Own the production platform and path to production, including ephemeral environments for every merge request
- Own reliability, cloud cost, and compliance with measured results
- Evaluate and adopt new models, runtimes, and tooling while remaining model-independent
- Set the direction for operating software in an agentic world and implement it
- Write code daily, primarily through directed agents
Requirements:
- Ownership: take problems end to end without waiting to be asked
- Own shipped work through production and be accountable for it
- Curiosity about code, including application code and infrastructure
- Forward-looking, agent-first engineering with tools like Claude Code
- Informed skepticism about where AI tools fail
- Technical fundamentals in distributed systems, networking, Linux, and AWS
- Ability to explain autoscaling, queues, and deploys under load
- Ability to understand what a change does to a running system
- Hands-on coding experience
