Job Description
Technical Director leading AI engineering, architecture, and high-performance teams for Baptist Health’s South Florida healthcare system. Driving scalable technology solutions across products and cloud platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering teams to achieve outstanding results
- Manage, hire, mentor, and develop engineers
- Define clear technology and product roadmaps and drive them to fruition
- Think strategically while diving deeply into technology and architecture
- Identify opportunities and leverage the team to translate them into live solutions
- Solve business problems in high-volume, high-scalability environments
- Manage multiple dependencies and drive strategic alignment on complex technical problems
- Lead multiple products throughout their life cycles, from idea conception through product release and maintenance
- Direct multiple engineering teams and engineering managers
- Build and grow high-performance teams and organizations
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Comp Science/related field
- Minimum 15 years of experience in IT management
- Minimum required experience: 10 years
- Strong expertise in Agentic AI and Google AI tools
- Clear/concise communication across all levels/technical depths
- Hands-on experience building software in object-oriented languages, cloud technologies, and modern technology stacks
- Experience with agile development, CI/CD, and DevOps
- Ability to manage multiple dependencies, drive alignment on strategy, and address complex technical problems
- Leadership on multiple products throughout their life cycles
- Understanding of Architectural Design Patterns and Domain Driven Design
- Strong software engineering and software architecture skills
- Experience implementing domain-driven design patterns, including microservices, containers, disposable, reactive, stateless, and distributed patterns
- Experience with open-source technologies
- Strong hands-on experience with performance/scalability management of Kubernetes Containers, ECS, Fargate, Lambda, Kafka, Spring Boot, and Java/Python-based applications
- Expertise in problem identification and triaging of complex multi-tier systems
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and change-management skills
- Experience building top-talent/high-performance teams, directing multiple teams and engineering managers
- Experience starting/growing teams or organizations under direct leadership
