Job Description
3D-Scan-Trainer:in bei WBS TRAINING, einem Anbieter beruflicher Weiterbildung. Vermittlung praxisnaher Maschinenbau- und Scan-to-CAD-Workflows im virtuellen Klassenzimmer.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver practical training on 3D scanning fundamentals, with a focus on mechanical engineering
- Teach the complete Scan-to-CAD process, from 3D scanning through point clouds, meshes, and reverse engineering to CAD models, technical drawings, and manufacturing
- Supervise project work based on real-world components
- Incorporate current technologies and industrial use cases into training
- Support participants in applying their knowledge in practice
- Deliver training in a virtual classroom as well
Requirements:
- Technical training or degree, for example in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, product development, or surveying engineering
- At least 3 years of practical experience in 3D scanning, reverse engineering, or digital data capture
- In-depth knowledge of various scanning technologies, such as laser, structured-light, or handheld scanners
- Proficiency in working with point clouds, mesh data, and STL, OBJ, PLY, and STEP formats
- Experience preparing and processing scan data
- Practical experience integrating scan data into CAD systems
- Experience with the reverse engineering of technical components and assemblies
- Good knowledge of technical drawings and design fundamentals
- Experience teaching adults or delivering training
- Knowledge of Artec Studio, Geomagic (Design X/Warp), PolyWorks, VXelements, or FARO Scene
- Experience with at least one CAD system, such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo, or NX
- Knowledge of metrology, quality requirements, and data evaluation
- Ability to assess scan results in terms of accuracy and suitability for specific applications
- Experience with hands-on workflows and project-based learning
- Interest in digital twins, digitalization, and Scan-to-CAD
- Process-oriented, holistic understanding of Scan-to-CAD workflows
- Ability to communicate complex content clearly, understandably, and engagingly
- Independent, structured, and participant-focused approach to work
- Nice to have: Certifications from scanner or software manufacturers
- Nice to have: Experience in optical metrology or quality assurance
- Nice to have: Knowledge of 3D printing/additive manufacturing
- Nice to have: Experience with mobile mapping, drone scanning, or large-scale scanning projects
- Nice to have: Exposure to AI, BIM, or AR/VR
- Nice to have: Experience delivering online training
