Created by duo Eyal Shani and Shahar Segal, The Good People Group is a restaurant group that works in the “heart-opening” business.

Various concepts have come from the group since its inception in 2008 in Israel, including North Abraxas, Miznon, HaSalon, Malka, Port Said, Beit Romano, Teder and Mirage.

Then came the expansion of Miznon to Australia, Austria, the US, and France, where French Vogue named the fast-casual pita place one of Paris’s Best New Restaurants in 2013.

In 2018 The Good People brought their magic to New York City with the opening of Miznon, followed by HaSalon, Shmoné, Port Sa’id NYC, Malka NYC, and two additional Miznon locations.

In 2023 and 2024, Shmoné was honored with a Michelin star - the first for the group.

Within the US, The Good People Group has expanded operations not only to NYC, but also Las Vegas, Miami, West Palm Beach, and Dallas.

Globally, the group operates over 40 locations.

And there are more restaurants on the horizon - all born from ideas, not concepts. “We don’t aim for consistency, we aim for a singular event.

Each time we meet our audience, the experience will be different, like theater or reading a good book,” says founder Shahar Segal. “Every day is different in that you’re creating intimacy in that singular moment in time.” Consistency, Segal insists, “kills the vibe and gives you a mechanical feeling.

No one will remember you,” he avers. “Our aim is you will remember us and we will remember you.”
