Job Description

Accountant managing day-to-day financial operations in a high growth SaaS environment. Collaborating with business partners for month-end close and corporate reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform critical accounting functions such as recording, reconciling and analyzing G/L account transactions.
  • Assist the Accounting team in the preparation of month end close journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis (for example: accrued expenses, fixed assets, prepaids, deferred revenues, payroll, intercompany, etc.)
  • Review customer contracts to ensure accurate billing, revenue, etc.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable to review, code, and process vendor invoices.
  • Review compensation and commissions to ensure accuracy.
  • Cross train with other accountants to serve as backup.
  • Assist with tax filings and audits including addressing PBCs requests.
  • Assist with and/or complete ad hoc projects as requested (e.g. documentation, development projects, system implementations, etc.).
  • Build and leverage cross-functional relationships within the company to more effectively bring value to Accounting and other internal teams.
  • Learn how to operate all types of accounting operations of a medium sized startup.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of accounting experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in GL, account receivables, accounts payable, tax, and payroll.
  • Quickbooks and SaasOptics/Maxio experience is a plus.
  • Previous work experience in the SaaS industry.
  • Understanding and experience working with financial statements audits.
  • Strong written, oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and take ownership of work products.
  • Open minded, looking to create efficiencies and eager to learn.
