Job Description

API Developer responsible for designing and developing robust interfaces at St. Tammany Health System. Collaborating across teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • The API Developer is responsible for designing and developing robust interfaces that connect users to powerful backend systems.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, and data engineers, to translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions.
  • Expertise in API development, backend architecture, and front-end integration will be critical in delivering high-performance applications that are intuitive, reliable, and secure.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to prioritize data integration, ensure high-quality data delivery, and address data validation and governance requirements.
  • Their primary focus is on enhancing the efficacy of data integration processes by building interfaces and enhancing information interchanges between business applications.
  • Partners with stakeholders to define essential requirements, implements transformation logic, and ensures models are efficient and optimized for business operations.
  • Ensures data is available in real-time or near-real-time, monitors interface and pipeline performance, and troubleshoots any issues to maintain data flow reliability.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a full-stack or application interface developer.
  • Proven experience developing and consuming RESTful or GraphQL APIs
  • Proficiency in backend technologies (Node.js, Python, Java, etc.) and front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js)
  • Experience with database design and management (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
  • Familiarity with API security best practices, including encryption and authentication protocols
  • Strong understanding of version control systems (Git/GitHub/GitLab)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and serverless architecture
  • Knowledge of API gateways, rate limiting, and caching strategies
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Excellent human relations skills, as demonstrated by the ability to interact positively with all customers and employees.
