Job Description

Associate Director leading clinical data engineering team for pharmaceutical company. Responsible for integrating and optimizing data pipelines for clinical trials and research initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrating structured and unstructured data across various data sources
  • Providing strategic planning, integration, execution, build and oversight of clinical trial deliverables
  • Managing teams and timelines across multiple functional areas
  • Developing processes and maintaining code libraries for data pipelines
  • Collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams for data transfer specification
  • Providing technical support and consultancy
  • Adapting to GCP regulations
  • Monitoring end-to-end performance and KPIs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, biology or other health related field or equivalent experience
  • 9+ years of experience in data engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data engineering, building data pipelines to manage heterogenous data ingestions
  • Experience with Python/R, SQL, NoSQL
  • Cloud experience (i.e. AWS, AZURE or GCP)
  • Experience with GitLab, GitHub
  • Experience deploying data pipelines in the cloud
  • Experience with Apache Spark
  • Experience setting up and working with data warehousing, data lakes (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon RedShift)
  • Experience with unstructured data processing and transformation
  • Must understand database concepts
  • Knowledge of XML, JSON, APIs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead junior Data engineers
