Job Description

BAR Coach helping Kaplan students prepare for the NextGen Bar Exam through personalized, data-driven coaching. Monitoring progress, guiding study strategies, and facilitating remote support.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive student engagement and outcomes by taking accountability for measurable success of assigned bar students
  • Analyze student performance data and progress using internal reporting tools
  • Translate performance metrics into personalized student goals
  • Initiate proactive outreach and provide targeted guidance
  • Help students understand and leverage their course, assignments, and Kaplan resources
  • Develop study strategies and prioritize high-impact assignments for students
  • Answer student inquiries with actionable advice on study strategies, exam preparedness, resources, and time management
  • Schedule and facilitate individual remote coaching meetings
  • Address academic hurdles, review performance, and suggest adjustments
  • Help students address test anxiety and stress
  • Maintain current expertise on NextGen Bar Exam requirements, testing characteristics, NCBE updates, and scoring rubrics
  • Promote attendance at live instructional seminars
  • Moderate live events and answer student Q&A
  • Track and share student feedback on content and course resources
  • Gather testimonials for marketing and sales teams

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD)
  • 1+ years coaching, tutoring or teaching (law-related preferred but not required)
  • Licensed attorney — Active and Unencumbered
  • Understand the structure, content, and scoring of the NextGen Uniform Bar Exam
  • Tech-savvy, self-motivated team player with problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of the subjects and skills tested on the NextGen Bar Exam, as well as effective methods for studying and preparing for the bar exam
  • Ability to work independently with a remote manager
  • Ability to appear on camera for remote meetings at anytime during working hours
  • Ability to respond to quickly changing needs with agility and flexibility
