Job Description
Data Engineer building and automating data workflows using various tools at Sunco. Focused on optimizing decision engines and modernizing legacy processes.
Responsibilities:
- Build and automate data workflows using Power Automate, Make.com, n8n, or similar tools.
- Clean, structure, and combine large datasets for reporting and analysis.
- Help Sunco complete our shift to data-warehouse-native decision engines.
- Build decision engines utilizing our data warehouse as a single source of truth.
- Maintain and optimize automated data and reporting pipelines where needed.
- Help teams automate and modernize legacy tooling and manual processes.
- Be willing to learn domain-specific use cases.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Automation Specialist, or equivalent experience in Software Engineering or Data Science.
- Expert-level Excel skills (Power Query, PivotTables, complex formulas).
- Hands-on experience with automation platforms (Power Automate, Make.com, n8n, or Zapier).
- Solid understanding of ETL, data integration, and APIs.
- SQL proficiency and experience with Redshift, Snowflake, or similar (preferred).
- Be someone who loves software, even if you're not a software engineer.
- Deep optimism about how AI can help elite teams better serve customers and the world.
- Availability: 5 AM – 2 PM Pacific Time
- Reliable internet and private workstation.
