Job Description
Bioinformatics Engineer building Nextflow workflows and cloud infrastructure for Seqera’s scientific data platform. Supporting customers with reproducible pipelines for genomics, imaging, and large-scale scientific datasets.
Responsibilities:
- Create robust and reproducible scientific workflows using Nextflow
- Make workflows available to customers for data analysis and visualization
- Develop and deliver solutions that increase adoption of Seqera products
- Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud data infrastructures for NGS, imaging analysis, machine learning, and large datasets
- Understand biological applications and scientific needs behind workflows
- Communicate services delivery updates through project plans, requirements, deliverables, documentation, training, writing, and presentations
- Engage customers on requirements and develop project deliverables
- Coordinate project execution
- Train customers to use Seqera products
- Represent the customer voice and collaborate with content, research, and software development teams
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of the Nextflow language and pipeline development approaches adopted by nf-core
- Experience programming in Groovy, Python, and R
- Ability to communicate and explain technology through code, writing, presentations, and demos
- Use of AI for software development and scientific analysis
- Experience with Git or other version control systems in a software development environment
- In-depth experience with analysis pipelines and algorithms for genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and other omics data types
- Experience with HPC and public cloud architectures, including AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure
- Customer-oriented attitude and enjoyment of helping find solutions
- PhD in bioinformatics or a relevant field, or Master's plus 3 years of experience (nice to have)
- 4+ years of experience relevant to scientific workflows and software development (nice to have)
- Experience with orchestrated and maintained data infrastructures and scalable pipelines for large datasets (nice to have)
- Production-level bioinformatics code evidenced by public repositories, publications, or open-source contributions (nice to have)
- Public code repository link and short narrative required with application
