Job Description
Staff GCP Engineer supporting reliable GCP applications, CI/CD, and SRE operations at CVS Health. Building secure infrastructure for AI agents, integrations, and knowledge-based applications.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for GCP-based applications and services, ensuring high availability and performance
- Automate repetitive tasks using Python, Bash, and Infrastructure as Code tools
- Implement cloud security best practices, including IAM, data encryption, and network security
- Monitor and manage virtual machines, containers, databases, and networking components
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Google Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools
- Set up and manage monitoring and alerting systems using Google Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, or Grafana
- Participate in incident response and post-mortem analysis
- Apply SRE practices involving SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets
- Build and maintain GCP infrastructure enabling secure development, deployment, and scaling of AI agents, plugins/tools, and knowledge-based applications
- Enable integrations with LLMs, vector/knowledge stores, APIs, and enterprise plugins
- Establish reusable AI development patterns, security controls, observability, and best practices
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams on application deployment and operations
- Create and maintain system architecture, process, and procedure documentation
Requirements:
- 3+ years experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions
- 3+ years experience with SRE principles and practices, including monitoring, incident management, and performance optimization
- 3+ years experience with CI/CD tools and practices, including Google Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar
- 3+ years experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
- 3+ years experience with scripting languages such as Python and Bash
- 3+ years experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Google Deployment Manager
- 3+ years experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Google Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of Vertex AI, Gemini, Agent Development Kit (ADK), AI Agents, MCP/Plugins, RAG, Vector Search, Cloud Run, and AI Security & Governance
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or similar
- 1 year of professional work experience required for every year of college degree not completed, in addition to required years of experience
