Job Description
BI Developer building Power BI dashboards, data models, SQL, and ETL pipelines for ALCOVA Mortgage. Supporting accurate, governed analytics and business decision-making remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools such as Power BI
- Develop and manage datasets, data models, and semantic layers for consistent reporting
- Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, views, and stored procedures
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion and transformation
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reporting and analytics solutions
- Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency across reporting systems
- Develop and maintain documentation for data models, reports, and processes
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and reporting solutions
- Implement and maintain data governance and best practices
- Work with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure to support analytics solutions
- Assist in integrating data from internal and third-party systems
- Identify opportunities to improve data processes and reporting efficiency
- Provide support for production BI and analytics systems
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2–5+ years of experience in BI, analytics, or data-focused roles
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field or equivalent experience
- Strong experience with Power BI and DAX or similar BI tools and languages
- Strong SQL skills for data querying and transformation
- Experience with data modeling, including dimensional modeling and semantic layers
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms
- Strong understanding of data quality, validation, and governance practices
- Experience with structured deployment processes, such as CI/CD and Azure DevOps
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
