Job Description
Civil Engineer on Development Engineering team advancing clean energy projects from feasibility to construction. Collaborating with cross-functional teams for technical clarity and robust designs.
Responsibilities:
- Support project development from concept to completion, identifying and mitigating design, budget, and schedule risks, with a focus on civil engineering.
- Own and manage site constraint maps, layouts, and designs, coordinating with external consultants and EPCs.
- Optimize civil site layouts for efficient land use, considering factors like equipment selection, topography, environmental constraints, and permitting requirements.
- Manage and coordinate site technical diligence activities, including hydrology and geotechnical studies.
- Provide civil engineering support during EPC contract execution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Design Experience: 2+ years experience in design, project management, or construction of renewable energy projects.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of civil design principles, technical diligence processes, and EPC construction standards for renewable energy projects is preferred.
- Renewable Energy Expertise: Working knowledge of wind and/or solar, including system design, optimization, and cost drivers is preferred.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and mitigate risks, analyze opportunities, and make sound engineering decisions.
- Collaboration and Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a cross-functional and collaborative environment.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Bonus points for:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D
- Familiarity with automated layout tools and geospatial analysis software
- Experience in grading, stormwater management, and erosion control
- Experience with all phases of project development, from siting to construction
