Job Description
Civil engineers and architects completing narrated design workflows for Mercor’s AI-lab training projects. Producing high-quality data to benchmark and improve frontier AI models.
Responsibilities:
- Complete real civil engineering and architectural tasks using a personal Mac
- Narrate design and drafting workflows while working
- Create high-quality training data for advanced AI models
- Explain design decisions clearly during task completion
- Complete a brief AI interviewer conversation
- Complete a brief paid assessment
- Work approximately 10–20 hours per week
- Collaborate with leading researchers on projects training and enhancing AI systems
Requirements:
- Must own a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor
- Must run macOS 15 or higher
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- Currently pursuing or recently completed Master’s studies, or 2–3 years of relevant professional experience plus a Bachelor’s degree from a prestigious institution
- Proficiency with Mac-compatible tools such as AutoCAD for Mac, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, SketchUp, or Rhino
- Experience with structural, site, or building design is a plus
- Ability to clearly explain design decisions while working
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Applicants must not require H-1B or STEM OPT support
