Job Description

Compliance and ethics analyst authoring research and advising Chief Compliance Officers for Gartner, a business research and advisory firm. Supporting regulatory risk, governance, and compliance program decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Author pragmatic and provocative compliance and ethics research for publication
  • Provide critical insights on executive-level priorities for global organizations
  • Support client conversations by discussing complex challenges and offering recommendations
  • Research compliance function transformation and optimization
  • Analyze the impact of changing regulatory environments on business models and processes
  • Develop risk strategies and frameworks for compliance and regulatory risks
  • Leverage data analytics to optimize compliance risk assessments and monitoring
  • Engage with clients by phone, videoconference, and occasionally on stage at Gartner events
  • Create insightful, actionable research for Chief Compliance Officers
  • Track developments in compliance programs and collaborate with internal experts and clients
  • Respond thoughtfully to press inquiries when required

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of compliance, legal, or regulatory experience
  • Most recently served as a deputy or divisional chief compliance officer/senior compliance leader
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in economics, business or international studies, or equivalent experience
  • Post-graduate law or economics degree preferred
  • Experience advising leadership teams/boards of directors on compliance priorities
  • Experience integrating quantitative and qualitative evidence into executive-ready narratives and recommendations
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Legal, ERM, Finance or Internal Audit
  • Experience conducting compliance risk assessments and reporting
  • Experience monitoring and analyzing regulatory changes
  • Experience supporting corporate governance initiatives
  • Experience designing, implementing, and enhancing enterprise compliance frameworks, including policies, procedures, training, monitoring, and reporting mechanisms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Executive presence and ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders
  • Ability to navigate and thrive in a highly matrixed work environment
  • Willingness to offer flexible working hours within reason for Gartner’s global client base
  • Ability to travel occasionally for team offsites and Gartner conferences (<10% of the year)
