Job Description
Cyber Security Analyst supporting First Quality’s personal care and household products businesses. Detecting threats, investigating incidents, tuning SIEM rules, and automating SOC response workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze alerts from SIEM/SOAR platforms and user reports
- Investigate security incidents and execute containment and eradication procedures
- Refine detection rules and SOC processes to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy
- Research emerging threats and attack techniques and develop new detection rules
- Proactively hunt for hidden threats by analyzing logs and identifying security gaps
- Review threat intelligence feeds, channels, and articles to identify potential risks
- Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions for SOC workflows
- Prepare and present reports on SOC activities, metrics, and security trends
- Participate in Red and Purple Team penetration testing exercises
- Collaborate with SOC team members, stakeholders, and management
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience working with SIEM platforms
- Familiarity with EDR solutions such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and Cortex XDR
- Understanding of common log sources including firewalls, Azure AD, Windows Security Log, email, and proxy/URL filtering
- Knowledge of phishing, brute-force attacks, malware, and data exfiltration techniques
- Proactive mindset, responsibility, and urgency in addressing security incidents and tasks
- Motivation and willingness to continually learn and adapt to evolving threat landscapes
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working in a SOC environment, in-house or with an MSSP
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Security, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field preferred
- Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Preferred: advanced SIEM content development, including custom correlation rules, dashboards, and reporting
- Preferred: scripting proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
- Preferred: end-to-end incident response experience, including root cause determination and post-incident reporting
- Preferred: experience monitoring and securing cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong troubleshooting and log analysis capabilities
- Ability to translate security requirements into technical solutions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced SOC environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High situational awareness and problem sensitivity
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Travel up to 5 days per year
