Job Description

Cybersecurity Consultant securing Microsoft Cloud infrastructure and applications for Avertium clients. Leading security architecture, integration, controls, and cybersecurity projects remotely in the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, frameworks, policies, and roadmaps
  • Design and implement advanced security controls and technologies, including SIEM, DLP, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems
  • Design secure systems, networks, and cloud environments aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Assess and recommend security controls for new technology implementations
  • Lead and manage complex cybersecurity projects, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, high-quality delivery
  • Develop and maintain client relationships as a trusted advisor
  • Communicate with clients and address concerns or escalations
  • Research cybersecurity trends, emerging threats, and technologies
  • Contribute to whitepapers, industry presentations, and internal training sessions
  • Develop reports, presentations, diagrams, and implementation/integration plans
  • Lead architecture and integration projects and provide consultative, security-minded, cost-effective solutions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT audit, or a related role, with progressively increasing responsibilities
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices
  • Proficiency in network and system security concepts, including secure architecture design and/or secure coding practices
  • Project management skills to lead and execute multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to apply standards and best practices such as CIS, NIST, PCI, and HIPAA across IT, Network, Cloud, and Enterprise Architecture
  • Experience in INFOSEC, Cybersecurity, Data Security, Network Security, or related areas
  • Skills and experience in one or more Cloud Architecture and Engineering technologies, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, AWS, GCP, Microsoft Cloud Platform, Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Security Center, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Priva, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra, and Microsoft SharePoint
  • Skills and experience in one or more Security Oriented Solution Management/Integration technologies, including CASB, IAM, PAM, PIM, SIEM, WAF, and SOAR
  • Skills and experience in one or more DevOps, Integration & Automation technologies, including coding/scripting, DevSecOps/SecDevOps, IaC, CloudFormation, ARM Templates, Jenkins, GitHub, and REST/SOAP APIs
  • Skills and experience in one or more Data Management/Analysis technologies, including ELK Stack, NoSQL, SQL, Data Warehouse, and Data Lake
