Job Description
Data Science Manager enhancing vehicle positioning and demand forecasting for Lime's global micromobility operations. Managing data science initiatives to improve supply and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, providing technical guidance and career development support.
- Own the data science roadmap for supply, focusing on demand forecasting, positioning system optimization, fleet health, and hardware innovations.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to design and test data-driven deployment and labor pricing strategies.
- Develop and deploy machine learning and optimization models to enhance vehicle positioning, routing, and operational efficiency.
- Define and track key performance metrics, including vehicle positioning success, labor efficiency, and hardware competitiveness.
- Oversee A/B testing and causal inference analyses to refine and validate supply-side optimizations.
- Advocate for a data-driven culture, ensuring insights are effectively communicated to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of industry experience in data science, with at least 1+ year of leadership experience (managing or mentoring data scientists).
- MS or PhD in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field.
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional projects, and collaborating with engineering, operations, and product teams.
- Ability to translate complex data science concepts into actionable business insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Deep expertise in forecasting, optimization, and machine learning
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience in data analysis, machine learning, and automation.
- Strong experimentation skills – experience in A/B testing, causal inference, and experimental design to inform product and operational decisions.
