Job Description
Data Scientist II developing mathematical models and computational solutions for GOL Linhas Aéreas. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in data analysis and business optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, maintaining clear communication and positive relationships with different business areas.
- Develop, implement, and maintain mathematical models for simulation, optimization, and decision support across company processes.
- Translate business problems into mathematical formulations (e.g., linear programming, integer programming, mixed-integer programming, nonlinear programming).
- Develop scalable computational solutions with a focus on performance, robustness, and maintainability.
- Write clean, well-structured, and well-documented code, following software engineering best practices.
- Participate in the full application development lifecycle (analysis, modeling, implementation, testing, validation, and evolution).
- Work closely with users and stakeholders to understand needs, validate results, and exceed expectations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in data exploration, analysis, and visualization.
- Knowledge of applied statistics, including probability, hypothesis testing, and exploratory analysis.
- 2–3 years of professional experience with Operations Research methods, including some of the following: Linear Programming; Integer Programming; Mixed-Integer Programming; Nonlinear Optimization.
- Advanced programming skills in Python, including familiarity with open-source libraries.
- Experience developing analytical applications with an emphasis on maintenance and continuous evolution.
