Job Description

Design Engineer at Ashby combining design and technical skills for a product serving over 100,000 users. Collaborating on challenging design problems and enhancing the design system.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and code features for Ashby’s product that serves over 100,000 weekly active users.
  • Work on challenging design problems and collaborate closely with Product Engineers.
  • Improve and expand the in-house design system.
  • Consult on bespoke design work as needed.
  • Build flexible, composable components in the design system to facilitate consistency across the product.
  • Engage with customers to gather feedback and iterate on designs rapidly.

Requirements:

  • You should have no more than 2 years of industry experience as a designer or engineer for the Junior position.
  • 2+ years of continuous experience as an Engineer or a Designer for the mid/senior levels. Internships don’t count.
  • Good proficiency in both Design and Engineering, with exceptional proficiency in the discipline you practice full-time.
  • Experience designing products and shipping code to hundreds of users (even if through side projects).
  • Familiarity with TypeScript, React, and CSS at a minimum; proficiency with backend technologies is a plus.
  • Must be able to work in Portugal or from one of the specified secondary locations.
