Job Description
Design Engineer at A3 Technology supporting FAA modernization efforts involving telecommunications and engineering documentation. Collaborating on installation plans and compliance with VoIP architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and/or review Site Installation Plans (SIPs) for integration.
- Validate equipment placement, rack elevations, cable routing, power requirements, and network connectivity.
- Ensure integration aligns with approved VoIP-based VCS architecture.
- Review Vendor Site Survey Worksheets (SSWs) and Site Survey Reports (SSRs) for completeness and compliance.
- Identify design discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.
- Validate telecom circuits, IP addressing, VLAN assignments, and network interface requirements.
- Confirm site readiness from an engineering compliance perspective.
- Provide reach-back engineering support during installation windows.
Requirements:
- Minimum 12 years of progressive experience supporting engineering design for communications, VoIP, ATC, radar, or mission-critical systems.
- Strong experience reviewing and producing engineering installation documentation.
- Working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals (routing, switching, VLANs, addressing).
- Ability to interpret and produce: Rack elevations, Wiring diagrams, Interconnect diagrams, Equipment layouts.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail in safety-critical environments.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
