Job Description
Director of Engineering leading packaging systems and automation projects across multiple locations at Conagra Brands. Focusing on team leadership, design standardization, and process improvement in food manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of packaging and automation engineers responsible for packaging equipment line design across approximately 40 plants
- Develop an internal team of subject matter experts
- Originate/approve designs, evaluate results, and make recommendations to senior management
- Review product requirements to ensure proper packaging and equipment design
- Utilize effective communication and leadership skills to influence across the organization
- Develop internal subject matter experts by building technical capability and mentoring
- Own the engineering design for new primary and secondary packaging lines
- Create standardization of equipment and procedures and replicate these across the enterprise
- Lead a team to develop Front-End-Loading packages that reflect thorough due diligence to ensure project success
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or Packaging Engineering (with emphasis on equipment)
- Engineering Subject Matter Expertise in Packaging Systems Design and Automation
- Demonstrated capability in developing and implementing automation/robotic solutions
- Packaging Equipment Engineering emphasis is required in addition to practical experience of 10+ years in food manufacturing with frozen and snack food packaging system design a plus
- Experience providing both tactical and strategic project leadership
- Machine design and experience working in a USDA environment is a plus
- Proven effectiveness in working collaboratively within a matrix organization
