Job Description
Electrical Engineer role focusing on electrical and pneumatic controls design for material handling systems. Collaborating with engineering teams and managing project deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Leading medium scope and less complex projects through the detail design and implementation phase
- Development of RFP/Supplier Selection requirements, electrical control panel phasing plans, Electrical Engineering work plans, and design approval packages
- Providing electrical system input to Project Engineer during design review meetings to ensure electrical requirements are understood
- Supporting Project Engineer during transition from Detailed Design to Final Engineering
- Reviewing and providing Electrical Engineering input to Description of Operation (DOO) & Functional Specification (FSD) documentation
- Facilitating project meetings as required by project cadence
- Producing meeting agendas
- Providing meeting minutes to team members
- Providing Electrical Engineering input to MHS implementation plan
- Developing Electrical Engineering work plan to ensure successful project milestone achievements
- Assisting Project Engineer during Speeds & Feeds review
- Leading Controls Layout review meetings with internal teams and Client
- Supporting Project Engineer to achieve design acceptance
- Leading and directing support resources during development of project deliverables
- Compiling project status reports
- Attending project update meetings
- Compiling and communicating electrical Assumptions/Decisions/Risk/Actions (ADRA) items
Requirements:
- Relevant design qualification with suitable industry experience in electrical design of complex automated material handling systems
- Conveyor control process experience (photoeyes, solenoids, variable frequency drive, line scanner, print and apply application)
- Knowledge of and ability to work with and manage multiple suppliers
- Ability to work effectively on a team and support high levels of performance
- Advanced collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal communication)
- Experience working with MS Project and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience in standard design of relevant material handling equipment for position
- Proficient in the use of E-Plan for electrical design
- Flexible and approachable
- Ability to self-motivate
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem solving skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally in support of our projects
