Job Description

Core Team Leader in engineering overseeing complex product design and commercialization at Southwire. Leading multi-discipline teams to enhance product performance and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Under limited direction, perform a variety of complex engineering assignments requiring in-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and industrial engineering
  • Act as a Core Team Leader/Project Manager leading a team of diverse experiences and disciplines towards the successful design, manufacturing, and commercialization of new products
  • Adhere to and follow a Stage Gate development process to ensure products are well designed and manufactured according to highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory codes
  • Proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and alignment with business objectives
  • Design systems to meet customer specifications and business needs
  • Develop complex product designs and systems, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations
  • Implement processes to enhance product performance and streamline development cycles
  • Communicate complex technical data to stakeholders
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and partners for successful product development
  • Coach junior engineers and team members
  • Deliver continuous improvement initiatives in engineering practices
  • Make formal technical presentations to customers and at industry forums

Requirements:

  • Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
  • Specialized Degree: Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering or Physics
  • Years of Experience: 5-7 Years
  • Preferred Education Level: Master’s degree
  • Specialized Degree: Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering
  • Years of Experience: 8-11 Years
