Job Description
Enterprise GIS Engineer managing AWS-hosted GIS platforms, APIs, and Web-GIS applications. Supporting ERNI’s global software engineering clients through production operations and enterprise integrations.
Responsibilities:
- Support, administer, and maintain Enterprise GIS environments hosted on AWS
- Monitor system performance, availability, security, and capacity
- Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patching
- Develop and maintain REST APIs, microservices, automation workflows, reports, and Web-GIS applications
- Improve the usability, performance, reliability, and maintainability of existing GIS platforms
- Integrate Enterprise GIS solutions with enterprise databases, business applications, and map-enabled systems
- Support migration and transition of GIS applications, dashboards, services, StoryMaps, and GIS data
- Ensure GIS solutions comply with enterprise architecture, security, engineering, and deployment standards
- Troubleshoot production issues, resolve service requests, and provide technical support to users and application owners
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including Scrum, Kanban, sprint planning, and team meetings
- Collaborate with GIS specialists, project teams, business stakeholders, and external consultants
- Serve as backup support for the GIS Server Manager and GIS Administrator when required
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, GIS, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in Enterprise GIS implementation, cloud infrastructure, and Web-GIS application development
- Hands-on experience with Enterprise GIS platforms such as Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, GeoServer, and GeoNode
- Experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Windows Server, and Linux
- Software development experience using REST APIs, microservices, JavaScript, Python, C#, PostgreSQL, and PostGIS
- Experience in production support, deployment, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and patch management
- Experience in Agile and DevOps environments using Scrum, Kanban, and Azure DevOps
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong collaboration skills with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external consultants
- Nice-to-have: experience in Financial Services or large enterprise IT environments
- Nice-to-have: knowledge of enterprise software engineering, cybersecurity, information security, and data privacy standards
- Nice-to-have: experience integrating GIS platforms with enterprise databases and business applications
- Nice-to-have: experience migrating ArcGIS applications, dashboards, StoryMaps, services, and GIS datasets
- Nice-to-have: experience using Datadog
- Nice-to-have: experience leveraging AI tools or AI agents
- Nice-to-have: professional certifications related to Cloud, GIS, Kubernetes, DevOps, or Information Security
- Must align to Manila business hours and the client's business calendar and holidays
