Job Description
Technical Field Advisor providing on-site technical direction for Steam Turbine Generator System maintenance and operations. Managing emergency responses and ensuring compliance with technical standards in power generation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, perform, coordinate, and/or monitor Steam Power site activities
- Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration after installation
- Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troublesome equipment
- Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer's sites
- Write technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, prepare job status reports, and manage expense sheets
- Supervise critical tasks when performed by third parties
- Prepare timely technical reports for customer records and future reference
- Ensure all parts needed for the job are shipped to the site
- Perform aftermarket upgrades at the site level
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related discipline from an accredited university with a 3.0 or higher GPA; or a High School Diploma / GED with 4+ years of experience in a Field Services or power generation equipment maintenance role
- Obtain and maintain unescorted security clearance for nuclear facilities across North America
- Experience working on customer sites
- Strong technical skill in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams
- Technically oriented, fast-learner, self-starter with a solid understanding of Steam Turbine Operation and Controlling Parameters OR Steam Boiler Operational Principals
