Job Description
Field Service Engineer performing commissioning and support of advanced energy systems for GE Vernova. Troubleshooting and resolving issues on customer sites while ensuring safety and technical integrity.
Responsibilities:
- Perform installation and commissioning on drive systems, power systems, automation systems or dynamic positioning systems at customer site locations during ship construction.
- Performs troubleshooting activities at site locations during scheduled Port visits or at sea to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implements corrective actions.
- Performs a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of our equipment.
- Develop documentation to execute work such as commissioning and maintenance procedures, as well as execute customer training.
- Execute on site project management and technical leader duties to resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfaction
- Identify sales opportunities for service agreements, spare parts, training, and upgrades.
- Provide on call support in response to customer calls for service.
- Assist in the growth and direction of the North American business.
- Provide support to engineering teams working on customer upgrade projects
- Complete timely service reports and other administrative requirements
- Perform work on-board vessels within GE / Customer safety guidelines either in shipyards or offshore.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university
- OR Associate's Degree or related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum 3 additional years of related industry experience
- OR High School diploma or GED equivalency with a minimum of 6 years of related industry experience
- Ability and willingness to travel 85% of the time on short notice
