Job Description

Field Service Technician diagnosing and repairing Xos electric trucks, battery systems, and electrical controls. Supporting commercial fleet customers across the West Coast through extensive field and cross-border travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and report on quality and design concerns on Xos vehicles and products
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, software, and external partner teams
  • Perform low-voltage and high-voltage electrical diagnosis, controls, and module programming
  • Apply electrical knowledge and use various volt-ohm meters
  • Use mechanical knowledge of commercial truck systems, including motors and harness systems
  • Provide professional customer-facing support in person, by phone, and by email
  • Complete timely and accurate case notes and repair orders; initiate new cases as required
  • Communicate professionally with customers on-site and remotely
  • Complete training objectives and certifications assigned by management
  • Perform additional assigned duties
  • Quantify customer concerns into actionable technical issues and provide detailed cause, root-cause, and corrective-action reporting to improve production quality and field-fix development
  • Travel primarily in the field to service the West Coast, including frequent multi-state and international travel and regular cross-border travel to Canada

Requirements:

  • Proven proficiency with high and low voltage electrical systems
  • Associate's Degree or Vocational Certificate in an automotive service technology-related field, or 4+ years of relevant experience
  • ASE Certifications are a plus
  • CDL Class A or B preferred
  • Proficiency in Google Suite applications
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
  • Ability to meet security clearance requirements and comply with applicable pre-employment conditions
  • Legally eligible for international travel and admissible to Canada for business purposes; able to obtain and maintain required travel documentation
  • Available to travel as business needs require, typically 60–80% of the time including overnight stays, weekends, holidays, and outside standard business hours
  • Ability to regularly lift over 50 pounds and perform work under commercial vehicles using personal protective equipment, outdoors and in varying weather conditions
