Job Description
Field Service Technician diagnosing and repairing Xos electric commercial trucks and battery systems. Supporting customers across the Eastern Region through extensive multi-state and Canada travel.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and report on quality and design concerns on Xos vehicles and products
- Translate customers' stated concerns into actionable technical issues
- Provide detailed reporting on cause, root cause, and corrective actions
- Collaborate with design, engineering, software, and external partner teams
- Diagnose low- and high-voltage electrical systems, controls, and module programming
- Apply electrical concepts and use various volt-ohm meters
- Use mechanical knowledge of commercial truck systems, motors, and harness systems
- Provide professional customer-facing support through onsite interactions, phone, and email
- Complete case notes and repair orders and initiate new cases as required
- Complete assigned training objectives and certifications
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Proven proficiency with high- and low-voltage electrical systems
- Associate's Degree or Vocational Certificate in an automotive service technology-related field, or 4+ years of relevant experience
- ASE Certifications are a plus
- CDL Class A or B preferred
- Proficiency in Google Suite applications
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
- Ability to meet security clearance requirements and comply with applicable pre-employment conditions
- Legally eligible for international travel and admissible to Canada for business purposes
- Able to obtain and maintain all required travel documentation
- Available to travel as business needs require, typically 60–80% of the time including overnight stays, weekends, holidays, and outside standard business hours
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds and work under commercial vehicles using personal protective equipment, outdoors and in varying weather conditions
