Job Description
Financial Data Analyst supporting Koalafi’s lease-to-own financing through forecasting, portfolio analytics, and capital markets analysis. Building models and dashboards that guide pricing, funding, and strategic decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Build merchant- and product-level unit economics and net cash flow analysis for pricing, growth, and capital allocation decisions
- Use SQL and large operational datasets to build data models, dashboards, and self-serve reporting
- Support monthly financial review materials and ad-hoc executive analyses
- Monitor competitor and market performance and synthesize business implications
- Support quarterly Outlook forecasts and the annual budget and plan
- Maintain corporate forecasting model components covering payment behavior, delinquency roll rates, and charge-offs
- Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses and stress-test liquidity positions
- Analyze budget and outlook variances and communicate drivers to senior leadership
- Support management of asset-backed debt facilities, covenant compliance, borrowing base reporting, draws, and repayments
- Prepare investor and lender communications, portfolio analyses, and investor meeting materials
- Develop credit performance forecasts to inform funding strategy and capital planning
- Research capital markets trends, funding innovations, and peer strategies
- Partner with Risk, Accounting, Sales, and Operations teams on forecasts, metrics, and reporting logic
- Improve processes, automate workflows, and use modern tooling including AI to increase analysis speed and accuracy
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a quantitative field
- 2–5 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, data/business analytics, investment banking, capital markets, or financial services analytics
- Strong financial modeling and forecasting skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with large, complex datasets
- Ability to support multiple senior stakeholders and prioritize competing workstreams
- Meticulous attention to detail and focus on data integrity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous problems and evolving priorities
- Preferred: experience in consumer finance, particularly subprime or non-prime lending
- Preferred: foundational knowledge of asset-backed lending, securitization, and debt capital markets
- Preferred: Python experience for financial analysis and forecasting
- Preferred: experience using BI tools such as Tableau to build dashboards and track KPIs
- Preferred: experience applying AI tools to accelerate analysis and reporting
