Job Description
Hospital Coding Specialist coding moderately complex patient classes for the largest health system in West Virginia. Ensuring accurate reimbursement and compliance with coding guidelines while working remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and appropriate gathering of information into coding classification systems
- Responsible for obtaining accurate and complete documentation in medical record
- Codes moderately complex patient classes
- Reviews and accurately interprets medical record documentation
- Assigns hospital codes to a variety of patient classes
- Assures quality and timely coding, charging and abstraction of accounts
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Current HIM or Coding Certification through AHIMA or AAPC
- Two (2) years of hospital coding experience
