Job Description
Data Scientist supporting analytical opportunities and model development for company growth. Collaborating with data engineers to leverage data workflows and deliver insightful analyses.
Responsibilities:
- Support the identification of analytical opportunities by contributing exploratory analyses and initial data assessments that can inform business hypotheses.
- Collaborate in formulating hypotheses and running simple tests using basic statistical techniques and machine learning tools with guidance from more experienced professionals.
- Perform data preparation, cleaning, and transformation tasks, ensuring the quality and consistency of data used in models.
- Participate in building low-complexity predictive models, assisting with parameterization, validation, and documentation of results.
- Interact with data analysts and data engineers to learn about data flows, architecture, and best practices for versioning and reproducibility.
- Document deliverables clearly and organizedly, contributing to traceability and the team’s collective learning.
- Actively participate in the Data Science chapter, absorbing patterns, tools, and processes, and demonstrating a desire to grow technically.
- Communicate results objectively, with support from more experienced colleagues, adapting language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Python for developing machine learning models.
- Basic understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques.
- Familiarity with Databricks for data engineering and machine learning workflows.
- Knowledge of data virtualization tools such as Denodo.
- Basic understanding of Teradata for data storage and querying.
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues in machine learning pipelines.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with data scientists and data engineers.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- Attention to detail in model monitoring and performance evaluation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Preferred fields of study: Systems Analysis, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related areas.
- Education level: Bachelor's degree (in progress).
