Job Description
Lead Engineer in backend architecture driving .NET and Java solutions for CargoSprint. Responsible for performance, reliability, and technical leadership across products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead backend architecture and implementation across products, with emphasis on scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Ramp fast on workflows and translate domain understanding into clear technical plans and execution.
- Own backend changes: API design, service refactors, data model evolution, and performance tuning.
- Provide technical leadership through code reviews, design guidance, and production support leadership when needed.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to sequence work, reduce risk, and drive decisions.
- Harden the system with better observability, incident readiness, and reliability guardrails.
- Improve engineering velocity through reusable patterns, documentation, and working agreements.
Requirements:
- 8+ years building production backend systems, with recent hands-on coding
- Strong experience as a Lead/Staff Engineer or Tech Lead in .NET (C#) and/or Java ecosystems
- Demonstrated success improving performance and reliability (latency, throughput, availability, cost)
- Experience building service oriented systems (APIs, integrations, authentication and authorization)
- Operational discipline: logging/metrics/tracing, alerting, incident response, and root cause analysis
- Clear communicator who can drive alignment across engineering and product stakeholders
- Nice to have FinTech, payments, billing, invoicing, or other high-volume transactional domain experience
- Event-driven architecture experience (queues/streams; async workflows)
- Experience modernizing legacy systems with incremental migration and deprecation plans
- Logistics, cargo, or supply chain experience
- Spanish language proficiency.
