Job Description
Lead Software Engineer developing scalable microservices on AWS and maintaining RESTful web services for Labcorp's healthcare initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain RESTful web services and modern single-page applications
- Develop scalable microservices on AWS that support LIMS workflows
- Write clean, well-tested code following TDD practices
- Participate in code and design reviews; give and receive constructive feedback
- Work closely with product, QA, and other engineers in an Agile/Scrum team
- Help improve coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps automation
- Troubleshoot issues across the stack and support applications through their full lifecycle
- Communicate progress, trade-offs, and technical decisions clearly to the team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology
- 5 or more years of experience in software engineering with progressive responsibility
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and Maven
- 2 or more years building applications on AWS (Lambda, ECS, EC2, SQS, API Gateway) or equivalent in Azure/GCP
- Experience designing and working with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle)
- Experience with REST APIs and microservices architecture
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools — Jenkins, Git, Maven/Gradle, SonarQube, Jira
- Working knowledge of application security (OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, Spring Security)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
