Job Description
LiDAR Technician at Turner Mining Group traveling nationwide to conduct visual inspections and capture high-quality LiDAR imagery. Responsible for flight plans, operations, and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Travel nationwide to conduct manual flights for powerline and utility visual inspections using LiDAR
- Create flight plans for the LiDAR aerial capture, conduct ground surveys, and establish GCPs
- Capture high-quality LiDAR imagery for critical infrastructure and environmental safety
- Conduct pre-flight and post-flight operations, including but not limited to airspace coordination, equipment assembly and tear-down, and hazard mitigation
- Be responsible for the operation and maintenance of supporting equipment, including a 4x4 truck, computer workstation, on-board inverters, and batteries
- Perform daily maintenance/cleaning on all LiDAR equipment to ensure quality capture and longevity of the equipment
- Perform quality checks on collected data to ensure accuracy and meet the client's needs
- Serve as a point of contact with clients regarding project scope, scheduling needs, deliverables, and follow-up
Requirements:
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License
- Strong ability to learn and master multiple software packages, data collection platforms, and associated workflows
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
