Job Description
Manager of coding personnel and operations for OhioHealth. Overseeing coding, education, and billing processes for inpatient and outpatient encounters while meeting financial goals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage department operations aligning daily function with desired outcomes to meet KPIs
- Work with departments to ensure processes are in place to collaborate on initiatives and/or address issues
- Coordinate billing/coding activities with Revenue Cycle representatives
- Develop Coding Supervisors through delegation and direct operational support
- Manage staffing scheduling within budget for coding operations
- Work with Medical Record Services management team on department and enterprise-wide processes and operations
- Maintain current information on governmental regulation changes
Requirements:
- Equivalent Experience and Relevant Coding Certification by AHIMA or AAPC (must)
- Minimum 7 years coding experience, at least 3 years in a large acute care network with multiple specialties
- Minimum 1 year progressive leadership experience
- Bachelor's Degree - Field of Study: Health Information or related (preferred)
- RHIA – Registered Health Information Administrator or RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on coding experience (preferred)
- Minimum 1 year leadership experience (preferred)
