Job Description

Manager of coding personnel and operations for OhioHealth. Overseeing coding, education, and billing processes for inpatient and outpatient encounters while meeting financial goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage department operations aligning daily function with desired outcomes to meet KPIs
  • Work with departments to ensure processes are in place to collaborate on initiatives and/or address issues
  • Coordinate billing/coding activities with Revenue Cycle representatives
  • Develop Coding Supervisors through delegation and direct operational support
  • Manage staffing scheduling within budget for coding operations
  • Work with Medical Record Services management team on department and enterprise-wide processes and operations
  • Maintain current information on governmental regulation changes

Requirements:

  • Equivalent Experience and Relevant Coding Certification by AHIMA or AAPC (must)
  • Minimum 7 years coding experience, at least 3 years in a large acute care network with multiple specialties
  • Minimum 1 year progressive leadership experience
  • Bachelor's Degree - Field of Study: Health Information or related (preferred)
  • RHIA – Registered Health Information Administrator or RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician (preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on coding experience (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year leadership experience (preferred)
