Job Description
Medical Director leading autoimmune diagnostics clinical strategy at Adaptive Biotechnologies. Advancing evidence generation, product development, and commercialization with medical and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the medical aspects of the autoimmune program and create and execute the clinical development and evidence plan
- Provide disease-area, physician, and patient input to R&D, Product, Commercial, and Market Access teams
- Design and oversee clinical validation, clinical utility, real-world evidence, and early clinical experience programs
- Develop and review protocols, investigator materials, clinical study reports, regulatory documents, publications, and presentations
- Interpret results and recommend next steps to program teams
- Develop KOL and investigator relationships, lead advisory activities, and cultivate scientific collaborations and investigator-initiated research
- Partner with Biopharma Business Development to integrate Adaptive assays into drug-development programs
- Monitor the evolving autoimmune disease landscape to evaluate unmet needs and inform product strategy
- Build internal autoimmune expertise and represent Adaptive at scientific meetings and with external stakeholders
- Define medical resourcing plans and recruit, manage, and develop the team as the program grows
- Manage assigned budgets, vendors, timelines, and compliance requirements
- Lead clinical strategy across the product lifecycle from early discovery through commercialization
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Medical license in good standing (preferred) or documented prior licensure in good standing
- 8+ years of experience
- At least 4 years of post-training clinical, translational, or clinical-research experience in autoimmune or immune-mediated disease
- At least 4 years of industry experience in clinical development, medical affairs, diagnostics, biotechnology, or biopharma, including work with molecular diagnostics, biomarkers, or precision-medicine products
- Board certification or eligibility in a specialty that manages autoimmune disease
- Experience developing and executing clinical evidence plans and prospective studies, including protocols, data interpretation, study reports, and scientific publications or presentations
- Working knowledge of diagnostic clinical-performance and clinical-utility study design, biostatistics, GCP, human-subject protections, and applicable FDA, CLIA/CAP, privacy, and quality requirements
- Track record of partnering across R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Biostatistics, Product, Commercial, Market Access, and Business Development
- Experience developing KOL and investigator relationships and leading advisory boards or scientific collaborations
- Strong scientific writing and presentation skills
- Ability to travel up to 25%
