Job Description
Medical Science Liaison advancing AstraZeneca’s rare-disease medicines in Romania. Building healthcare-expert partnerships, generating insights, and supporting clinical and medical strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a scientific expert in the field, with 100% dedication to field interaction
- Engage in high-level scientific exchange with external experts
- Build and maintain scientific partnerships with external experts
- Understand and uncover unmet medical needs and generate relevant insights
- Help develop and implement medical product strategy within the brand plan
- Gather customer insights on the Romanian market and clinical dynamics
- Work in a cross-functional brand team as a medical-scientific expert
- Develop Field Engagement Plans and cross-functional Account Management plans
- Collaborate with Regulatory, Market Access, Marketing, and other functions on field-related medical issues
- Support oncology compounds throughout their lifecycle
- Support local, regional, and global clinical research programs and externally sponsored research projects
- Create real-world evidence data generation projects with the brand team
- Provide medical-scientific input on sales promotion and other activities and materials
- Set up and deliver medical-scientific training and education for sales teams and AstraZeneca personnel
- Organize and execute scientific events, symposia, and educational initiatives for healthcare professionals
- Organize and participate in regional advisory board meetings
- Maintain therapeutic-area expertise through continuous education and congress participation
- Support Medical Governance in handling external medical and scientific requests
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and AstraZeneca policies and guidelines
Requirements:
- University degree in a health-related or bio-sciences field
- Good understanding of field medical affairs plan execution
- Previous knowledge and expertise in oncology and/or haemato-oncology is a strong plus
- Professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably as an MSL or within Medical Affairs; clinical research experience will also be considered
- Thorough knowledge of local regulatory and market access requirements related to medical affairs activities
- Comprehensive knowledge of the legal and ethical framework and procedural guidelines for promotion and approval of medicinal products in Romania
- Ability and willingness to work in a team and independently
- Communicative competence and presentation skills
- Very good written and spoken English and fluent Romanian
- High-level scientific knowledge and ability to analyze and process clinical and scientific data
- Experience liaising with healthcare professionals
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including communicating complex technical, scientific, or medical information to broad audiences
- Driving license
