Job Description

Backend Developer responsible for developing scalable APIs and microservices for Afya, enhancing healthcare with effective technology solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop scalable APIs and microservices using Node.js;
  • Design secure, resilient backend solutions aligned with microservices architecture patterns;
  • Implement automated tests to ensure code reliability and quality;
  • Build system integrations using REST and messaging to promote efficient interoperability;
  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support the full development lifecycle;
  • Collaborate with product, frontend, and data teams to deliver user-focused solutions;
  • Monitor and optimize application performance in production;
  • Apply best practices for version control, code review, and technical documentation;
  • Participate actively in technical decisions and the evolution of system architecture;
  • Support continuous team improvement through knowledge sharing and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Develop and maintain APIs and microservices using Node.js;
  • Design robust, scalable, and secure solutions within a microservices architecture;
  • Define and enforce service communication standards (REST, messaging);
  • Write automated tests (unit, integration, etc.);
  • Ensure quality and efficiency in the development process using CI/CD tools;
  • Work closely with product, frontend, and DevOps teams;
  • Participate actively in code reviews and support technical decision-making.
