Job Description
Model Based Systems Engineer IV developing MBSE solutions and driving digital transformations for hypersonic research at EXPANSIA. Collaborating across technical programs while mentoring engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead MBSE projects, working groups, and strategic planning activities across technical programs
- Develop and refine system integration models using commercial MBSE tools aligned with requirements and interface documentation
- Guide the transition from document-based systems to model-based architectures and restructure existing models for scalability and reuse
- Collaborate with engineering and research teams to create and support reference and system-level architectures for acquisition and operational systems
- Manage the systems engineering process including the definition of interfaces, performance parameters, and operational concepts
- Design and deliver MBSE training programs and oversee tool integration strategies based on organizational needs
- Provide mentorship and technical support to junior engineers and peers in the application of MBSE methodologies
Requirements:
- Active Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 8–10 years of experience or Master’s degree with 6–8 years of experience in systems engineering or a related technical field
- Demonstrated expertise in MBSE tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, or Enterprise Architect
- Strong knowledge of SysML, UML, and systems integration concepts
- Proven ability to develop technical solutions for complex problems using model-based approaches
- Experience mentoring engineering teams and managing MBSE-related training or tool adoption initiatives
