Job Description

SCADA Systems Engineer developing and maintaining systems for electric grid monitoring and control. Monitoring, supporting, and troubleshooting SCADA systems across North America.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments associated with the SCADA system.
  • Monitor, support, and maintain the day-to-day operations of the SCADA systems across the fleet.
  • Proactively identify SCADA system issues leveraging tools to monitor the health of the system.
  • Troubleshoot and fix SCADA system issues.
  • Document and report out on these issues.
  • Design, develop, modify, and evaluate systems, processes, or facilities to support company objectives, utilizing engineering methods.
  • Perform routine maintenance of SCADA systems such as updates and patches.
  • Find areas of improvement in SCADA systems/business processes and implement the solutions.
  • Interface with various parties and respond to their requests or tickets.
  • Provide on call support per the departments on call schedule.
  • Recommend alternative engineering solutions to management to meet business needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in engineering related field.
  • Basic knowledge of electric grid energy management systems or similar for configuration and engineering SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge and application of principles in area of SCADA engineering.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills involving ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness.
  • Ability to provide timely assessments with limited information and/or assumptions.
  • Proficient with personal computers and automated tools.
