Job Description
Online Information Systems Professor teaching undergraduate and graduate courses for DeVry University. Developing course materials, assessing learning, and integrating enterprise technology and responsible AI practices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and provide students with an approved DeVry University syllabus aligned with terminal course objectives
- Organize, prepare, revise, and update course materials
- Use online technologies and course-related software, including websites, email, and online discussions
- Model effective oral and written communication to engage students and improve learning
- Set course expectations, objectives, assignment and examination dates, and evaluation weighting
- Ensure exams correspond to course terminal objectives
- Prepare and grade exams consistently and fairly, providing timely feedback
- Integrate responsible AI technologies into teaching and learning
- Recognize, evaluate, and address appropriate and inappropriate student use of AI tools
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Facilitate student learning in accordance with DeVry University requirements
Requirements:
- Doctorate in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field required
- At least 18 graduate credit hours in information systems, information technology, systems analysis, database management, or related computing disciplines
- Unofficial graduate-level transcripts must be uploaded with the application
- Degree must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or by an equivalently accredited international institution
- Three to five years of applied professional experience in information systems, enterprise systems management, IT operations, systems analysis, or technology implementation within organizational environments
- Experience with information systems design, implementation, and management, including technology integration supporting business processes and organizational decision-making
- Industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials relevant to information systems, IT management, enterprise systems, or systems analysis
- Strong subject matter expertise in information systems concepts and enterprise technology environments
- Effective communication skills and ability to explain technical and organizational technology concepts to diverse learners
- Knowledge of information governance, cybersecurity principles, data management practices, and ethical technology use
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices
- Additional requirements may apply based on state licensing, institutional policy, or accreditation standards
