Job Description

Part-time construction inspector supporting Ducks Unlimited’s wetland and habitat restoration projects. Conducting inspections, surveys, reporting, and project administration across the Southeast.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Ducks Unlimited’s representative on construction projects
  • Perform inspections to verify contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and standards
  • Prepare inspection reports and maintain project records
  • Operate surveying equipment to assist with construction surveys
  • Assist Regional Engineers and Technicians with administrative duties
  • Deliver wetland, riparian, and associated habitat restoration projects with a regional conservation team in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction field
  • Knowledge of project administration, construction inspection, and materials testing methods and techniques
  • Knowledge of heavy construction work methods, practices, materials, and equipment
  • Experience and knowledge in construction surveying techniques, including GPS
  • Ability to assist with design and construction surveys
  • Demonstrated ability to work with public and private conservation partners
  • Demonstrated oral and written interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to operate ATVs and outboard boats in various environments
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours
  • Willingness to work independently and with minimal supervision in remote work environments
  • Willingness to travel out of town and overnight regularly
  • Ability to work in inclement weather
  • Must be based in Central to South Florida
