Job Description
Part-time construction inspector supporting Ducks Unlimited’s wetland and habitat restoration projects. Conducting inspections, surveys, reporting, and project administration across the Southeast.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Ducks Unlimited’s representative on construction projects
- Perform inspections to verify contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and standards
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain project records
- Operate surveying equipment to assist with construction surveys
- Assist Regional Engineers and Technicians with administrative duties
- Deliver wetland, riparian, and associated habitat restoration projects with a regional conservation team in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction field
- Knowledge of project administration, construction inspection, and materials testing methods and techniques
- Knowledge of heavy construction work methods, practices, materials, and equipment
- Experience and knowledge in construction surveying techniques, including GPS
- Ability to assist with design and construction surveys
- Demonstrated ability to work with public and private conservation partners
- Demonstrated oral and written interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to operate ATVs and outboard boats in various environments
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours
- Willingness to work independently and with minimal supervision in remote work environments
- Willingness to travel out of town and overnight regularly
- Ability to work in inclement weather
- Must be based in Central to South Florida
