Job Description
Physician Complex Coder handling GI and General Surgery coding at Banner Health. Evaluating medical records and ensuring accurate coding with a remote work setup.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates medical records for coding
- Codes diagnostic and procedural information in accordance with guidelines
- Consults with medical providers to clarify record information
- Provides quality assurance for medical records
- Compiles daily and monthly reports
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
- At least 3 years of complex professional coding experience within specialty
- Certification such as Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
- Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding principles
- Ability to work effectively in a remote setting
- Attention to detail
